Sametalu

Meaning : If the 'kanda' does not have an itch why do the knife should
(' kanda' is a kind of edible root here in Andhra, though it tastes lovely it itches when we touch it uncooked. The proverb sort of means why would I worry about your trouble if you do not.)

Meaning : If the fence grazes all the grass then what is going to stop anyone else...
(A guardian must have true responsibility, if not him then who can we trust)

Meaning : To a person who is fully fed even the 'garelu' would seem tasteless.

kamchu mroagunaTlu kanakambu mroagunaa
Meaning : Will gold sound as loud as brass?
(A well learned person would know the value of silence)
